Your Gateway to the Global Tokenized Asset Ecosystem”
MIAMI, FL, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The STO Foundation, also known as The Tokenized Asset Foundation, today announced the appointment of Nicki Sanders as Global Director of Education.— Randy Goldberg
Sanders brings approximately 15 years of software engineering, technical strategy and leadership experience, including more than a decade working with blockchain technology, digital securities, decentralized finance and institutional digital asset infrastructure.
In her new role, Sanders will lead the development of the Foundation’s global educational strategy and programming. She will work with industry leaders, technical experts, educators and Foundation partners to create accessible, technically credible resources for issuers, investors, financial institutions, asset managers, technology providers and other participants in the tokenized asset economy.
“Education is one of the most important foundations for responsible industry growth, and Nicki has the rare ability to understand blockchain technology at the architectural level while explaining it in clear, useful and practical terms,” said Randy Goldberg, President of the STO Foundation. “Her experience across digital securities, smart contracts, custody, decentralized finance and technical leadership makes her ideally suited to guide our global education strategy. Nicki will help establish the Foundation as a trusted destination for people and organizations seeking to understand how tokenized assets work and how they can be implemented responsibly.”
A Career in Blockchain Engineering and Digital Asset Leadership
Sanders began her technology career after earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Utah. Her early professional experience included software engineering at Raytheon before moving into blockchain and digital securities in 2015.
She spent nearly six years at tZERO Group, where she served as a Senior Software Developer and later as a Development Team Lead. Her work included blockchain development for capital markets and the creation of technology supporting digital securities and smart-contract-based compliance.
Sanders is a named inventor on three issued patents concerning security tokens. This work includes technology for self-enforcing security tokens designed to apply compliance rules through smart contracts and distributed investor registries.
She later served as Principal Software Engineer and Principal Developer Advocate at TaxBit, where her responsibilities included blockchain research and development involving decentralized finance and non-fungible token contracts. She subsequently held senior leadership roles including Director of Engineering at Nerd United, Chief Technology Officer at Realio and Engineering Lead at Anchorage Digital.
At Realio, Sanders helped lead technology strategy for a blockchain-based platform focused on digital issuance, investment and the tokenization of real-world assets. Her experience at Anchorage Digital further expanded her work with institutional digital assets, custody infrastructure and regulated blockchain services.
Sanders also currently runs her own blockchain technology consulting firm, where she works with crypto and blockchain companies on platform architecture, custody, and tokenization infrastructure.
Sanders has also served as Vice Chair and an Executive Board Member of the Utah Blockchain Coalition, contributing to the development of Utah’s blockchain and digital asset ecosystem. As a writer, speaker and technical educator, she has participated in events including Permissionless, Silicon Slopes Summit and Women Impact Tech.
Her areas of expertise include:
• Blockchain architecture and engineering
• Real-world asset tokenization
• Digital securities and smart-contract standards
• Institutional digital asset infrastructure
• Digital asset custody
• Decentralized finance
• Regulatory-aware technology design
• Technical strategy and product development
• Developer advocacy and public education
• Translating complex technical concepts for broader audiences
Building a Global Education Platform
As Global Director of Education, Sanders will oversee the expansion of the Foundation’s Learning Center, webinars, expert discussions, educational series and practical industry resources.
Her vision is to build an educational platform that serves participants at different levels of experience, from professionals exploring tokenization for the first time to institutions, issuers and technology providers implementing advanced tokenized asset strategies. The Foundation’s educational programming will address the complete tokenized asset lifecycle, including asset selection, structuring, issuance, blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, custody, compliance, investor access, distribution, trading and secondary-market liquidity.
Programming will also examine how tokenization applies across asset classes such as real estate, private credit, private equity, investment funds, commodities, infrastructure, intellectual property and other real-world assets.
“Tokenization will only reach its full potential if people understand both what the technology can do and what responsible implementation requires,” said Nicki Sanders, Global Director of Education at the STO Foundation. “My vision is to make the Foundation’s educational programming practical, technically accurate and accessible to people at every stage of their journey.”
“Education should help an issuer understand the full lifecycle of a tokenized asset, give an investor the knowledge to evaluate opportunities and risks, help a builder make sound technical decisions, and enable institutions to connect technology with governance and compliance,” Sanders continued. “I am excited to work with experts from across the global ecosystem to create resources that move the conversation beyond terminology and toward informed, responsible participation.”
Under Sanders’s direction, the Foundation will seek contributions from experienced professionals across financial services, technology, law, compliance, academia and public policy. These perspectives will help ensure that its educational resources reflect both the opportunities presented by tokenization and the operational, regulatory and technical considerations required for responsible adoption.
The Foundation also plans to expand its use of case studies, expert interviews, practical guides and structured learning pathways to make tokenized asset education more useful for audiences around the world.
